Adobe could release an update for Flash that would make it easier to target new versions of the Flash Player too …
Great new feature for Flash Pro CS6!
Quick question though about using older versions of the AIR SDK. Is it possible to use versions older than 3.2? I’ve tried using 3.1 and 3.0, however I receive an error and I think it is due to a new file that is included at the root level of the SDK called ‘airsdk.xml’. Would we need to replicate this somehow, or is it just not possible to manage older versions using the new ‘Manage AIR SDK’ tool?
Thanks!
thx for the tip
The overlaying of the SDK is great and seems to work up until I try to work with some of the new features baked into the 3.3 beta. When using the new native png encoder (worked great in CS5.5 after manually overlaying the sdk) I get this error from CS6 – VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flash.display::PNGEncoderOptions could not be found.
Anyone have any insight into if this is fixable or atleast confirm that I’m not the only one with this problem?
@Adam. Older version of the AIR SDK do not work with this new feature in CS6. It was designed for future versions.
With this new release of Flash CS6, does the application still crash when trying to duplicate a MovieClip object in the Library that contains a standard textfield, or has that bug been finally fixed?
I keep getting the error “The version of the target AIR SDK is 3.3.0.3560. Only SDK higher than version 3.3.0.3560 may be added” despite I even re-downloaded the SDK today to make sure I have the very latest beta :/
Any ideas ?
Very good tips, is very ease join a new AIR SDK version. but what’s up with Adobe…. because is only for Air and not flash player also.
@someComments I think you can overlay an older Air version in the default 3.2 folder, then when u add new sdks it just needs to be higher than whatever flash finds in that folder, so i THINK u can target older versions that way
The same option for Flash Player would be nice. Any update on this?
finally! will be so much easier to share projects between different systems.
That actually looks pretty damned sweet.
